RACHEL SAUM

Norwegian Rosemaling is a traditional Scandinavian Folk Art which means “decorative or flower painting”. The Telemark style dates to the 17th century; it consists of scrolls taken from the acanthus vine and stylized flowers.  I find inspiration working in this tradition which connects me to my Scandinavian heritage.  I also enjoy the stories of the woods, Nisser and the snow.
